Quite an obscure question here, but does anyone know when Alan Hawkshaw composed Best Endeavours, the Channel 4 News theme? I know it was first adopted by C4 News in 1983, but does anyone know when it was actually composed/published?
It's been used since day one I think, Nov 2 1982 ?

That link does prove it wasnt used since day one.
