Yikes. What an awful environment to work in. Smile

Indeed! That's pretty much what the ITV News studio looks like permanently. I do feel for the newscasters as it must be a horribly disorientating environment in which to work every day.

I would have thought it would be worse for the studio crew than the presenters - at least the presenters are facing away from the green towards the cameras and back wall a lot of the time. I don't fancy facing those green walls for an hour or two a day.

For those interested - found this in the Newsroom's Got Talent video - this is what the virtual Channel 4 News studio currently looks like.

You instantly see why Jon and Matt have both, on occasion, forgotten to turn to face the video wall when interviewing!

I'm intrigued to know what's taking so long with the set... it must be just about ready now, surely? Or is it more to do with staff training?

You haven't got long to wait by all accounts. Keep tuning in is what I'd recommend! Wink

ITNCameraman on this forum (MattJF on Twitter) has said there's a lot of action in the Channel 4 News studio these week, and said they have been rehearsing. It's very possible that we'll see it on Monday, and if not definitely the week after.

It wasn't that long ago when set changes seemed to happen over the weekend.

Well it's been a little more than a re-dressing this time. The new set is not a radical departure from the old one, but there have been structural changes, hence why it's taken longer than usual. Also, the format is being changed so that requires time for piloting prior to launch.

I do worry though Channel 4 News is in real danger of pissing off it's most loyal fans in it's effort to attract new viewers.

Why?

I just get the impression it's going for a cosy co-host arrangement rather than the main/secondary presenter which has worked so well for so long and distinguishes it from other news programming.
