Would still rather see the cash spent on restoring some kind of News at Noon - even if it's a 15-minute bulletin.

you've said this several times now without explaining why this would be a good idea

The CSO set looks so dodgy - the lighting's really bad and the graphics look so flat and amateurish. How long are they using this for?

Krishnan is so bad at reading the auto-cue tonight as well.

I watched last night's programme, and thought something was off, but couldn't quite put my finger on it. It's a quite competently done basic VR studio (which has a few camera moves too), but some of the backgrounds are a bit lacking.

The gap between the screen and the 'glass wall' wasn't quite moving in time with the rest of the shot during this zoom.

This background looks particularly bad - almost like it's a bad 3D rendering of the newsroom, rather than a photo of it.

Still, I've seen worse temporary sets!

Certainly the vast majority of viewers won't even have noticed.

Indeed.

Most will probably be thinking "that's a horrible tie Krishnan is wearing. Looks like one of Jon's cast-offs".

The virtual set looked fine, really, better than it probably needed to be for just a few weeks. What did cause a problem was a fault with the caption generator that occasionally created lines across the screen and small random white shapes whenever any captions appeared on screen.

I guess that as ITN has two virtual studios it would make sense for them to have had this virtual version of the C4 studio up their sleeves as a back up, particularly since the occasion when the studio floor flooded and they had to do the lunchtime news from the newsroom.

The virtual set looked fine. The desk looked a bit off, as it's not the actual desk, is it?

Not too keen on the closer integration of the secondary presenter so far, all seemed a bit forced, like when Jon quickly let the second presenter mention following them on Twitter in the closing moments, before he closed the programme. The 'Coming Up' bit seemed fine for the Secondary presenter, but other parts, no.

In fact, I have it on good authority, that it is the actual desk!

See! Just goes to show. What we think is fake actually isn't, and what we think is real is actually fake.

(Edited for repeating myself twice.)

In fairness looking at those caps, I think it's a bloomin' good job! Obviously some effort has been put into recreating the studio design. I can tell 'something' isn't all it seems, but that's probably because I know. As has been said, the majority probably wouldn't have spotted a thing.

Didn't the actual desk have a shiney top? Unless they've removed that bit to stop the green screens reflecting on it.
