Anyone else finding that the mic/report volume is much lower than the adverts and the theme music tonight?

Interesting article about Newsnight in today's Media Guardian - suggesting that Crick and the programme's editor don't get on. May help explain why he's left to join C4.

Following her recent departure from C4N, Samira Ahmed presented a Prom on BBC Four last night, at the start of her new freelance career.

I thought that was Katie Derhams job.

Derham was presenting the live concert on Radio 3, The delayed version, with added visual interval pieces, was presented for television by Charles Hazlewood and Ahmed.

I can just about comprehend the logic behind shrinking Channel 4 News down to 30 mins. Friday-Sunday, but can anybody explain why this drops right down to 15 minutes over mid-year Bank Holidays? Their coverage of the Libyan Revolution has been top notch but with only 15 minutes I didn't feel there was anywhere near enough detail.

Athletics .... the bulletin shrinks on every night except Wednesday this week.

A shame C4 decided they couldn't spare the 8pm hour for athletics highlights all week - I think they'd actually rate pretty decently - certainly better than at 7.30pm anyway. And considering C4 News seem to be having reports themselves in much more detail than usual beforehand it's all a bit pointless really.

That's annoying. Channel 4 have such a brilliant news operation, it's a shame that it gets shunted so readily.

Has there been any noticeable change yet to the structure of C4 News - weren't they going to make the final half hour more discussion based or something?
