Not that it'll make much difference - they're only usually a minute or so long and often contain no actual adverts. In a way removing one messes with the structure a bit - the programme arguably flows better with a couple of short breaks than it would without.

I'm surprised no-one mentioned the tongue-in-cheek closing of C4 News last Wednesday night (28/04/10). Take a look at http://www.channel4.com/news/catch-up/ before it disappears.

Someone did, though I don't think it was this thread. It could have been though.

Ah. It can't have been in this thread, as the last post before mine was on 13 April. Is it tucked away in the General Election thread?

Sorry, meant to say something about the thing last week where a day's worth of posts went - you're right, it could be in there, but it might have been in here and got lost.

News at Noon to return tomorrow for one day only according to Krish.

I really think C4 should have given it an extra six months, or at least bought it back for the duration of the Election Campaign and the week that followed as a daily "Election Report" or something.

I too think scrapping News at Noon was a mistake. It was good having a quality alternative at an earlier time than the BBC and ITV.

Agreed. It was the best of the lunchtime bulletins by far.

Channel 4 obviously got very lucky with all the news breaking in the last hour, but ITN and Jon Snow did a fantastic job holding together as a rolling news operation, which neither are used to.

Top job.

Got lucky and great job as you'd expect, but frustrating to see a bulletin end with just a plug to tweet Jon Snow, rather than pointing you even just to the website for further developments.

I just wish there were more bulletins.
