Does More4 news still have a brief summary at 6pm? Perhaps they could just offer short bulletins instead around 4pm, 6pm and 9pm. Wouldn't be much, but would be cheap -and viewers of C4 News could be directed to the 9pm summary for any latest developments in the evening's main stories.

To be honest, I watched More4 News a few weeks ago and was not really that impressed. They had about 3 major stories and a summary of the day's other headlines.

Whether I caught it on a bad day, I don't know. If people want the news at eight o'clock, they should just watch C4+1 and watch a repeat of the main C4 News or watch BBC News.

The loss of More4News would not be terrible as the 7pm bulletin is available on Channel 4 + 1.

It would be a shame however to lose the afternoon programme, which I do watch if about.

Jon Snow puts radio mic in back pocket, checks script one last time and heads for studio. News flash on Speaker for C4.

Does anybody have any pics/vids of the C4 News flash?

Today's News at Noon looks like it's being presented from the Newsroom rather from the Studio for some reason.

Thanks for that - though a Michael Winner health warning would have been nice. Laughing

The atrium though rescues any situation - always looks great when the camera pans around it. Don't very often see the split-screen live link though, but I guess C4 do use it when on location - though I think they tend to use tailored ones, rather than the generic one we saw today.

Great to see a bit of imagination there as well - they could so easily have used one fixed camera shot for the whole programme as well.

Channel 4 news swims against the tide

Viewers of Channel 4's News at Noon were granted a glimpse behind the scenes today after a flood in the studio meant the bulletin had to be presented from inside the rather less glamorous ITN newsroom on London's Gray's Inn Road. "Flippers at the ready," announced the Channel 4 News Twitter feed, before offering an image of Krishnan Guru-Murthy "bravely" presenting "as the floodwaters lap about his feet". Guru-Murthy himself managed to continue tweeting throughout, even revealing a change of chairs during the commercial break, while the newsroom posted a Twitpic of the scene. The first story on the bulletin was about water prices, accompanied by stock video of roads being dug up to replace pipes, but Monkey's sure that was a coincidence.
