Was it my ears or did Jon Snow just say "from ITN, at seven, on 4" in the Channel 4 News trailer just now?

I thought he said something like "Where does it all end? Here with us at seven on 4"

I thought we all just counted down until the weekend arrived; but this presenter on News at Noon seems to have forgotten which day he's up to... Laughing

Perhaps he could hear the shouts of "It's Saturday tomorrow" coming from the gallery as he uttered his words. He seemed quite happy about the realisation though, as any of us would! Laughing

I think C4 still reference ITN quite a bit, especially with material that was originally for ITV News.

Would it cause you a problem if they did?

Is it just me or do the C4 News titles seem to be not working at the moment - last nights programme, started with titles late and the same thing happened last week

More4 News and News at Noon under threat:

Can't say I'm surprised about More4 News, especially when it goes head to head with Channel 4 News but on +1. I think they'd be stupid to get rid of News At Noon, it's the only decent News programme on during the daytime.

I agree - I doubt the midday bulletin would go. If Channel 4 bulletins are affected, it'll be at weekends and on bank holidays - although some bank holidays they schedule 30 minutes bulletins, and others just 5 minutes.

More4 News - it would be a shame, but completely understandable at less than 50,000 viewers - they could just put reruns of Come Dine with Me at 8pm and get ten times the figure.

It's poorly scheduled really and difficult to see who the target audience is - is it those who watch C4 News, or those who don't? Perhaps a repackaged version of C4 News later in the evening, or a weekly edition, would work better for the channel.

I wonder if the Daily Show is also under threat? I've always thought it would work better around 11pm.

They could probably just get away with a straight-forward repeat of the main programme in a later slot, if Ofcom would let them. I don't know that they would want to do that though? For the News at Noon, I think it will stay but almost certainly they'll ditch the practice of having two different reporters working on one story for the two programmes.
