There is only one lighting option during the programme, and thats when they stand at the plasma. No other options have been seen.

I always thought that Central set looked quite big, from the overhead shot. It looks small because the sheer size of the seats. They are a lot deeper and longer that other regions.

You think it looks bad now, you should have seen it towards the end of the squares look, the colours was all over the place.

I can't see the difference in the seating of Central and Wales, though the lights of the two studios seems as though Wales never adopted the teal colour scheme. Or perhaps it's the fact that Central took it too far from the blue and made it too green.

I seem to remember that during the Generic Look Mk1 era (which was definately meant to be blue , obv), Central West seemed to gradually go green-ish over time.

They appeared to periodically reset the lighting blue again (every few weeks/months or something), but it would always start gradually going green-ish again soon after. Clearly, Central West must have some problem, (cheap-sh*t lighting gels or something?).

I bet they were glad when the teal look was announced, as they were always erring towards green anyway. It's no wonder they're the teal-est teal of all teal regions.

It is just a redressed Studio W. The projection is the real projection, and cardboard cutout of the bricks surround the normal studio.

I can't believe that they actually go to the bother of redressing the set to that much of an extent - totally changing the furniture, and bring those "brick walls" in.

Normally, you'd just expect different coloured lighting - like Central Extra etc. It's nice that they've bothered! Cool

This footy programme.

I've noticed last week that Central showed it at 11pm, then their regional political programme at 1130, while London did the reverse.

Is it the same transmission, only live in one region & delayed in another?

If it's the same prog, why don't they show it at the same time in Central & London?

I think its different but just comes from the same studio for both regions. Perhaps thats why it cant go out the same time if its live?

Its not live. Its recorded between 6.30 and 11.00, because CNW are in the newsroom for the Midlands headlines at 6.50, and Central News is in the studio at 10.30.

The programme should be at least 45 mins.

At least they have got Central making programmes again! It may only be one programme but surely it is good for Central in a small insignificant way!

Perhaps ITV has had to justify why they have Central at all and said "oh just make that programme there to keep them happy"

It's good that something other than news is being made at Central.

Maybe Nick Hancock couldn't be bothered to travel to London, I think he moved back to Staffs when he took a sabbatical from his presenting career? Confused

I recall he appeared as a pundit on the last run of Central Soccer Night . Perhaps he proved to be popular, and they hired him for this series, rather than Gary Newbon-- who is busy with Sky sports maybe? I noticed they have kept "stand-in" presenter Matt Teale for "Beat the Monkey" though (or lemur or whatever it is supposed to be!).

I think the ITV Central Sports team is at its best right now with SJ and Matt Teal. Matt is now the stand in for Bob Warman.

I agree. Is it just Matt Teal and S-J Mee at CNW?

CNE's sports team is great too. Central veteran Dennis Coath has returned as sports editor, after Natalie Jackson's departure to BBC EMT . We also have the excellent new talent of David Chisnall.

It's just a shame that the rest of CNE's output is naff Confused
