Does anyone have any idea when Central News South will be revamped in line with the other ITV regions? The looks is rather old fashioned now.

Still it's a far superior service than what claims to be "local news" on BBC ONE in Oxford.

This year's Central programme statement says that Abingdon will be getting a news set during the course of the year

BBC Oxford news is just an opt-out from South Today, Central News South is a full news service.

Is there room at Brum?

I've got the impression there ain't, now East & West are together!

well central are renting out a floor of central court in gas street - so there is room ... but central south has fairly up-to-date kit, as opposed to central east who hadn’t, prior to the move.

Yes - Central South have a Quantel Editbox/Clipbox based editing system - a bit like a scaled down version of the system ITN use for ITV/ITVNC and C4 News, or the one GMTV use. It isn't THAT new - but it is a lot newer than the tape based systems that I expect Central East were using (and many BBC and ITV regions still use)

I though the Central News South studio was at its best with the squares in the background, and it was a blue and yellow colour, with a sort of purplish carlton star. Very nice.

Agreed - very attractive. See pics here (scroll about halfway down).
