Of course, I watched the guy. He's in me flipping news region lol. As far as I'm concerned he's one of the ITV regional old school
I don't think you find much news and features on current regional news programmes. It's all about competitions, text voting etc.

If Peacock's a legend in ITV Local News then it's lost all hope.
Have you watched the guy? He gives melodrama a whole new meaning. Longevity means he fits the specific production/editorial values, not that what he does is pleasant viewing.
But then I'm after news and features, not pantomime.....

Sorry, I didn't know Peacock worked for Anglia as well.
So all we can expect from ITV local news are competitions and hammy human interest reports?
I seem to have seen a few other items amongst the dross but I might have been mistaken.
There's a market for the Daily Star and Daily Sport so I guess there's a market for Peacock's work. Unfortunately no matter how long he's been on local ITV he never fails to come across as melodramatic now.
As I said before i expect little from ITV local news these days and just watch before the BBC alternatives in case anything of interest appears from the rather good Gloucester news team.

He doesn't? If you referring to that I put that he's in my region and that my profile shows that I'm in the Anglia region. My cable box has Central South and Anglia for ITV regions. Technically without the cable box and receiving ITV through an aerial would mean based on the past that I could only get Anglia.

Why you being silly now?
Central South and Anglia (West) covers stories for Milton Keynes. Therefore they are my regions. If it has to be exact and pick one then I would say Anglia but only because they cover more stories than Central South for my neck of the woods.
Anyway, time to move on.

Hmm... the sports bit on Central News West often mentions the Derby County football team, so must surely also cover at least a little bit of Derbyshire? The above is obviously an over-simplification.
I'm sure a read somewhere on TVF that towards the very NW of Derbyshire, viewers get the Manchester-based regional newses. Years ago, I'd always assumed that it was a simple case of northern derbyshire gets Leeds, and southern Derbyshire gets Nottingham. I'm surprised at just how fragmented Derbyshire actually is.
Of the two "main" Derbyshire services (Leeds and Nottingham), which of those two does the majority portion of the county get?
It depends on the relay transmitters, hope these maps help:
Central News East Coverage
Central West coverage area
Emley Moor/ Calendar Leeds
Winter Hill/ Granada
Editorially speaking on CNE, Chesterfield occasionally gets mentioned (usually because of the footy team), and Buxton gets mentioned once in a blue moon.... other than that CNE doesn't do much beyond Bakewell in terms of Derbys.
On a clear night from the top of Alport Height(near Derby), it is possible to see: Belmont, Emley Moor, S.Coldfield (plus Lichfield), Waltham, Winter Hill (through a telescope) and numerous relays fro Waltham. So it would be technically possible for somebody living on that hill to pick all of those up

Has anything much ever been mentioned on-air about the forthcoming changes? (On either CNsouth or MeridianWest?)
Was there any on-air mention of the changes for north-Gloucestershire viewers, in the run-up to last Tuesday?
And has ITV West news given much on-air acknowledgement to their new viewers?

Plenty of trails by Wes and co on Central News South about the new ITV West service for North Gloucestershire being available now. ITV West seems to be continuing as before at the moment (and as before covering Gloucestershire stories). But I think they'll up it from 4 December, when the new service really starts (They'll need to do that to better the service we get from BBC Points West.) Great ITV West picture quality from Ridge Hill - much sharper than Central South's picture.

I've only seen the trailers on CNS , has there been any mention in the meridian region news show about the changes ?
Nice report from Ridge Hill today showing the new analogue transmitter and the views from the top.

My

Er, who the hell are those presenters listed for Central?
Aren't they Anglia presenters or something?
There was bound to be a listings magazine cock-up, over the regional news changes.
