Yeah, I noticed that too. How retarded can they get? Rolling Eyes

"The upgrade of the newsroom in Birmingham also brought with it a complete rebuild of the studio for the regions flagship programme Central News at Six. The news for the East Midlands is broadcast from an identical studio next door creating sister studios serving two completely different audiences from one space."

Gets better than that...

Terry Lloyd House at Chilwell is a two storey building, but CNE only occupies the lower floor-- the upper floor is empty and available to rent! ITV might as well have built a news studio on the upper floor. They already have a sports 'studio' and a camera for the "over in the newsroom" shots.

But, I assume the Terry Lloyd House sports "studio" doesn't have, say, a "proper" lighting rig etc - i.e it's effectively done like an Outside Broadcast???

Remember, it's not just literally a studio that'd be needed to fully produce a programme. There's all the things immediately associated with a studio (e.g. galleries for " VT" (or digital equivalent), vision mixing, TX, etc... Even a make-up room for presenters, etc).

I assume that TLH has none of the above, and that all such aspects of CNeast are done in Brum??? (I would find it hard to believe that it's literally JUST the studio that's in Brum, and that the above is in Notts).

I assume that TLH is a building that is solely "office" status, and doesn't have anything "brodacst capable" (if you see what I mean) about it. The existence of the sports "studio" doesn't necessarily qualify the building as "broadcast capable". Obviously, ANYWHERE (indoors or outdoors) can be broadcast from in the Outside Broadcast sense.

The inject facility at Terry Lloyd House is simple, but broadcast quality. There is a Sony broadcast camera mounted on Vinten Pedestal at the end of the newroom. Here there is a small , effieicent area covered by a small simple lighting (scaffold) grid with four different lighting set-ups possible. I suppose this would depend if they are using the small ITV corporate set or panning the camera 180 degrees to shoot with the newsroom behind, or maybe another small set . The 'studio area is an 'L' shape running a short way along one wall then a little bit further along the other wall. I think there may be a cyc rail, well I think curtain rail would be more appropriate about 8ft high about the same height as the small array of lighting . They can use the facility to record and produce own programmes if required, either recorded or live. .

I personally saw EMT the other month . think dominic was on holiday and quentin was on him and Anne do seem to get on very well Anne can certainly talk! I was shocked when i saw central news east and discoverd Marie Ashby had left. Steve was a good replacement for Kevin but i don't rate the other lady much. I think Lucy kite should have replaced Marie as she has often co presented when Marie had her days off or even better have had an all women presenter line up.

I agree... Sameena Ali Khan is a good newsreader, but has little personality. Lucy has at least some charisma, and works well alongside Steve Clamp. Lucy is doing well on Sky High too. Lucy also co-presents well with Gareth Owen when Steve is off. I rather like David Chisnall on sport, and James 'weather' Wright is quite witty when he does daytime bulletins.

Things are not the same without Marie though... BBC EMT are welcome to Ann Davies though!!

And I wish CNE would quit with obsession with stories about children with obscure diseases and infirm people in general... I'm sure there are more pressing things affecting the region other the chronically ill! Sad Rolling Eyes

Don't you think asking in EVERY thread when you can go to www.thetvroom.com and get them yourself is a bit annoying and lazy? Just asking dear.

I would but I'd like the current ones, as in since the 2006 rebrand. Dear.
