Obviously, CNeast are going to have to replace the cardboard backdrop with a new one, as the blue-tint and "four squares" motif are no longer relevant.

But, I hope they maintain a photographic view of Nottingham (albeit teal-tinted, rather than blue-tinted), rather than going for the completely ambiguous backdrop that CNsouth and Meridian have got.

Why would Central East be any different??

Hello FORUMERS !,

What was the point in moving the programme to the so called " meeting room " for a whole week ?, I watched the 625 bulletin this eve just to find out they were back in the studio with exactly the same backdrop with the sqaures on behind the Presenter, Unless it was cso, But i'm sure it was back in the studio because the backdrop had the usual brightness before it was moved, Whereas whilst in the meeting room it was dark & dimmly lit !.

Unless a projection screen has been installed and that was just a projection, or perhaps there were technical updates going on in the studio during the last week, and now they have been completed so can move back in.

If there were tecnical updates going on in the studio how come this has not affected ITV 1 Centra News Wst Having to move for a week As well ?.

I Just hope it is an image on a newly installed projection screen.

If not i just can't think why they would put the same cardboard backdrop into the frame behind the Presenter just for the sake of one day instead of waiting till bulletins om Mon ?.

Yes, I hope they change the cities they use though, as Leicester seems a bit of an odd choice.

How have they miraculously managed to find room for projection distances all of a sudden? Confused

Or, if it was always possible, why did they have a cardboard backdrop before? Confused

Yes, the unusual choice of Leicester does tend to suggest they're "doing an Anglia West", doesn't it?

Maybe they've had to move the set forward slightly to accomodate the projector, hense them having to move out for a period.

Doesn't projector technology also now take up less room, that is why Wescountry can have one, in there tiny studio.

Last night we had an announcer say "This is Central News, with X and X" - Never heard that before!

Wonder if it's Mark Lipscomb? Central South have him doing a presenter intro - which they originally started around 1998 (though had dropped in more recent years).

Just checked the South & East versions and its a different guy (I think). Also Central South appear to have rebranded their 6pm programme form Central News to Central News at Six in line with West & East?
