Just a wild thought - they haven't shoehorned the set into their Nottingham newsgathering base (Terry Lloyd House) have they? - seems improbable though. Could it work? Presenter in Nottingham, gallery in Brum?

What I would like to see, and I know this is wishful thinking, when the new look regions are unveiled on Monday is desks! Even if it's just small desks like the one now used by Scotland Today. I am now so sick and tired of the bench look.

Is it just me or is that lit up turqouisey green rather than the usual blue? honestly do they think nobody would notice the move?

Well that colour seems to be the new ITV News colour, so it may be an indicator for other regional sets...

Perhaps...colour wise it is good.

Originally, there was just one proper studio shared between two programmes, at Central Court in Brum.

Both the CiTV and Central News (West) sets were housed in it. My understanding is that the shared studio was "three quarters" sized (if you know what I mean) rather than truly big enough for two programmes.

So, the camera operators would be partially standing on the CiTV set during Central News, and vice-versa.

CiTV obviously adopted out-of-vision presentation (and, later, moved out of Brum altogether, to Leeds/Manchester) to allow Central News (East) into Brum. A dividing wall was erected, to turn the shared studio into two physically sepearte studios.

As the shared studio was only ever "three quarters" size, the two studios are unusually small, but the CNeast one is particularly small because the wall was not built in the exact middle - it was built to allow CNwest as much space as possible, and CNeast cramped in.

The fact that they had to do this (divide the shared studio up) suggests that they've got absolutely no room anywhere else in "Central Court" (at least, not on the bottom two storeys) for CNeast.

So, where the hell can this temporary location of CNeast possibly be? A corridor? The foyer? Confused

Good question...perhaps in a warehouse somewhere?...perhaps even in the foyer st oxford style.

I wonder if Central News South is somehow being squeezed into Central Court as well, bearing in mind they moved out of their studio about a month ago and yesterday revealed their new studio, compete with the new ITV branding.

Could it be that CNS is going to move into CNE's studio in Birmingham and that the CNE set/studio shown above is a new one (possibly built using some old CNS kit moved up from Abingdon)?

The time that South have been in their newsroom could be explained by the fact that it would take time to move kit to Birmingham and install a new studio there (rather than just the cosmetic move of a new set which would have taken a week).

Just a theory obviously - and I hope I'm not right, but it all seems to be a bit coincidental.

Isn't Central West's studio partly opened into the foyer? This is very strange.
