Just been wathcing the CBS Evening News and Bob Schieffer interviewed a Monsignor about the election of Pope Benedict XVI in a soft area of the CBS News studio. I've never seen this before. Until now, they've had the fishbowl desk and the newsroom behind, and the stand up set to the desk's left (as you look at it) but this is a new development to my mind.

It looks like it is a continuation to the stand up set - further down the set to the corner and around, with a plasma screen in the corner and a huge display of the 'CBS Evening News' on the next wall. Schieffer and his guest sat in chairs arranged within the corner and there was a set of steps up to the dias behind...!

I know that CBS wanted to change the direction of the show and make it different - which they did with Schieffer taking over and in terms of its presentation - but making it like NBC Today or CBS Early Show is a radical departure.

Anyone with captures?
