Ah, I didn't see the open yesterday, but I knew the glassy globe had been introduced on Monday.

I've also heard that set updates, including brightening the newsroom and new graphics are due later in the year.

Moz posted:
"From everyone at CBS News, around the world, goodnight."

He actually says:

" For everyone at CBS News, around the world, goodnight."

Reminds me of:
"For all of us here at News Centre Four, I'm Ron Burgundy, you stay classy San Diego"

47-HD, Pretty boring to be honest...

Tonight saw Scott Pelley live in Washington and also a separate Western edition, instead of a separate time delayed version of the Eastern programme.

EDIT: The US gets a Round-up sponsorship sting, we don't get such luxury...

Must say that theme tune (for desperate want of a better phrase) has really grown on me and is great. Much better when heard alone, rather than while watching with the old-style titles...

Think re-broadcasters in the UK have to avoid the sponsorship elements within US news shows don't they? (Breaks Ofcom sponsorship rules?)

That's why Sky Tx it at 0030, so they can chop out sponsors etc.

Set changes imminent, graphics changes also happening, I've been told. They used LA as a cover for the tweaks.

Wondered why they were in LA. Any ideas how the set has been altered?

On a separate note, I thought the interview in a recent edition of The Hollywood Reporter with Jeff Fager (Chairman) and David Rhodes (President) interesting, including refusing to rule out further changes to The Early Show (including at the anchor desk). Is it fair to say the January changes were a failure?

Worth noting that since June, the CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley's audience figures have risen by 7% in 5 weeks (and still climbing!), averaging 5.55m viewers a night in the last week of July. Given that figures were down 14% during Couric's reign, it says something!

Set wise, lighting changes I gather! I think they're going from incandescent to LED too as well as sorting out house lighting.

I always thought that Sky took a feed from CBS that was 6 hours behind UK time hence being broadcast at 00.30, instead of 11.30 like NBC Nightly News on CNBC.

Although I do remember the BBC NC showing ABC World News ages ago with the sponsors still in, ie 'Presented by Audi' and all that kinda stuff.

Sky take the PST (EST-3 hours, GMT -8 ) feed, time delayed usually (hence LIVE ES/DT on the graphics) and then chop it about to remove sponsors.
