Ah, ok - thanks for clearing that up. That set and studio space look very makeshift, which is why I thought it had to be temporary.
One thing I do know is that, across town, ABC affiliate KGO
is
getting a much-needed new set. Looking forward to seeing that - I gather they've been broadcasting from the newsroom for some time.
ABC has been glacial about getting new sets to the O&Os on the west coast. KGO and KABC needed new sets long ago. Not a huge fan of KABC's new-ish set, it just about verges on gameshow...could be the angled/slanted portions in the back ground panels. Though I do like the white look and the nice looking anchor desk. Flashy typically doesn't go over well in San Francisco. Will be interesting to see what KGO winds up with.
FOX WTFX 29 Philadephia - Cant believe this is a FOX O&O affiliate set. Hopefully this is the replacement sets the other stations might get. This is brilliant. Too bad they are stuck with the ugly FOX mandate graphics. But I really like this. Cant believe it.

WTFX's new set is fantastic. They've gone with FX for this one rather than Devlin - and, while the Devlin sets were a vast improvement on what came before, this is better than any of them.
It's a very elegant set, and I'd love to see them introduce a similar design at WNYW and KTVU. As Mouseboy33 says, it's not obviously 'Fox', so it would be ideal in San Francisco where they need to tread lightly.
I love that desk. Its so simple, but it has movement to it. Its like the backlit white centre section is sliding to the right. I would toned down the logo size and justifed it to the upper right or something. But its a brilliant design, simple with out being boring. Its almost almost as though they created 2 sets. Because this view makes it look as though the newswall its the central part of the set rather than a appendage as some tend to look. Just brilliant. Again too bad they are stuck with the clunky FOX graphics

ABC7 in the Bay Area is currently in a newsroom set, saw a facebook live feed from the studio earlier, looks amazing for a temporary setup. They happened to mention during that feed, that the new studio is completed and they are doing rehersals in the new set, so expect to see it on screen within the next couple of weeks or so.
It has nice depth of field, but the lighting doesn't look so hot on air, and it looks a little tight on two anchor shows. It should be interesting to see the new set considering the previous one was in place for around 15 years with only some adjustments.

WNYW New York needs a set like this badly. And I hope Fox does change their graphics.
Indeed. Can anyone think of a reason why WNYW, Fox's flagship O&O, is still using a 10 year-old, defunct mandated set while O&Os in smaller markets have been given impressive upgrades over the past few years? All their New York competitors have had new sets in the past 5 years too.
Well its not just WNYW still operating on a old mandated set. WFLD Chicago is still doing so. KTTV debuted their game show set a few years back. So they arent likely to change. But its weird in the top 3 markets, 2 have old rubbish sets. But then again WFLD is the worst of the bunch and they dont deserve anything because no one is watching. They firing people, people leave. Epitome of a revolving door. Rumor surface their male presenter wants to get outta there.
WAVE 3 - Louisville Kentucky - debuted their take on the NBC Virtual window sets used at most NBC O&Os. But this one used wood and stone. Not a fan of the warmth look. So last decade. But its the market and what the market dictates. The stacked stone is hideous. These small cities in the South tend to be slightly off in modern design. Oh well. I do like the "window" framing and the knee wall beneath it.
