North American Affilliates/Network Set Design

That's due to Comcast beefing up operations at the local level--whether at an NBC O&O, a Telemundo O&O or at a regional sports channel or news channel. If only Comcast could sort out the nonsense happening at the national division

I love some of these modern looks that some stations are coming out with. There seems to have been a big move away from the tacky stuff that Fox News still seems to do. Everything is bright, shiny but also clean.

True. FoxNews is a visual mess on so many levels. The only good set is the NewsDeck. (I think the giant Ipad Desks are bit OTT.) But i like it overall. Graphically the show is a mess like all FoxNews broadcasts. But the set and stated purpose is innovative and different. If it they use it they way they claimed, I wouldnt know, I usually avoid the channel like the plague.

Does anyone take the Fox News Deck seriously? It looks like a total spoof to me. The giant iPads are ridiculous... (And the design quality of their housings could have been executed far better)

if Chris Morris did The Day Today now, that's exactly how the set would look.

Having watched this behind the scenes video I can't say I'm any the wiser if those 'information specialists' are actually doing any real work. Seems they sit there like Uhura on the USS Enterprise swiping away at those giant 55" touch screens sifting through tweets & social media.

That New England set is one of the best I've seen from the US in a long time.

Not liking the spiderweb on the floor. And defo they are going to be standing throughout the newscast. Likely they will get stools if they covering a breaking story.

WSVN 7 Miami Sneak Peek. The Newsplex will debut on Sunday. As you can see they added a massive video "ribbon" that goes right the way round the balcony. And they installed a huge massive video display between 2 red glowing columns and the wall graphics around the balcony was changed. On the ground level. The huge "tube" tv display was finally taken down and replaced with a huge LCD display and a acrylic runway was added underneath that. Its hard to say if the anchor desk has been changed and the short wall behind it. Expect more anchor movement like their sister station WHDH in Boston. They claim there is going be new opens and graphics throughout. I expect them to be over the top and flashy and per normal. I doubt the theme will be changed. They may use a different cut.

WSVN 7 Miami. Premiered the new NEWSPLEX last night. Its loud and flashy and slick. Only the way 7 could do it. Strangly even though everything is a sea of blue its feels bright. Its extremely busy and garish it does look slick and well branded. Strangely their sister station WHDH is a bit more frenetic in the use of the jib cam. WSVN was a big restrained. Could be that is was a weekend premiere. In addition to the video walls, they added a huge 7 logo platform to the middle of the floor in the Newsplex, also the refreshed the Satellite Centre by adding a 7 logo to the counter top and they refreshed the newsdesk and they made minor changes to the actual anchor desk. The graphics were updated. The NEWS STATION was returned to the graphics in a noticeable, but subtle way. Same theme, just a punchier update. The droning, dramatic open to the newscast was typical WSVN. If you going to do tabloid I guess this is the way to do it.
