Calendar location

Can someone tell me where Calendar is based? I thought Yorkshire Televison had only three studios in Leeds, two large studios and one small.
I always thought that Calendar was filmed in the small studio with drama, game shows ect made in the two bigger studios.
This week Calendar has been coming live from the news room as their studio is updated, but the newsroom looks like it is also based in a studio.
That would mean there must be four studios at kirkstall Road in Leeds instead of three, or is Calendar made in a diffrent location?

I'm not 100% on this, but I've always been led to believe that Calendar is in a separate building to the rest of YTV - the one next door to the main building (on the other side from Radio Aire). Presumably they have their own dedicated studio in there plus CSO studios for bulletins and sub-regional opts.

I too also thought it was in a different location - Spencer for Hire, do you mean the YTV building in front of the "Martin Shelton" one?

There is a seperate building which I noticed today no longer says Yorkshire Television on the front, but 104 Kirkstall Road (or similar number).

It does though have signage reading something like "Parking for Calendar/Tongiht Guests only"

I suppose you could say the newsroom was a studio as it looks closer to one than a standard office. It isn't really though its just a newsroom made for TV as Calendar used to be presented from a stage in the newsroom.

Although I've never been inside what I understand is that the 2 studios for network production making programmes such as Countdown and My Parents are Aliens and a bit strangely the area they make Yorkshire weather in is in the main building which used to have a big chevron on the front. I presume the ITV Northern Transmission Centre is in here as well.

The calendar newsroom, regional production studio which makes at the moment Calendar, Soccer Night Extra and Jobfinder and also the small bulletin studios are in the building next door '104 Kirkstall Road'. Then there's also the Emmerdale Production Centre behind that.

Sounds like an interesting set-up.
Which years did this happen? do you know if there are any pictures of this on the internet?

The building next to the main YTV one is indeed the Regional Production centre for News/Local programming. It's known as the "104 Building" as someone pointed out earlier.

There's one main Calendar studio, plus 3 Regional Control Rooms (RCRs) that produce the sub opts, with 2 small studios in Leeds, plus a small studio/broom cupboard in Sheffield for the South Yorkshire region (tho' that's controlled from a Leeds RCR.

There's one combined Odetics cart m/c that's used for all 3 regions.

So can i ask why there are no pix or coverage of the new Calendar and Granada Reports studios. Calendars studio, as usual takes the biscuit as being the best with them having ~3~TVS. Loving the whole corporate look, rumours say it is either Anglia or Westcountry next....
