i like julia ceaser - she's bubbly and presents well and she can string a sentence together unlike Declan Donnelly who.talks.like.a.robot

I think you mean Declan Curry rather than Declan Donnelly...

Is Declan a freelancer?

The other day, Philip Hayton said to him - 'Back after his long Easter break, heres Declan' to which he replied 'Now now Phil I may of been working for all you know'

Out of interest, does anyone know?

I would happily swap Business Today for 5 minutes of quality BUSINESS (not consumer) reporting every hour...running into the evenings even when London has closed. At the moment, it seems like News 24 can justify the dumbed-down business service during the day because they have a 'heavyweight' programme on at 10:30pm- but fail to realise that much of their target audience for "Business Today" are watching Newsnight over on BBC 2.

Julia Caesar's adlib-ing over the Eurotunnel story this afternoon was actually embarassing to watch....why do they insist on keeping the format of "chatting" to the main presenters and then repeating everything they've just said in a scripted form (which is far more succinct and professional)?

Cut the pointless chat ---> deliver more business news.

Heathrow Express?

A specially produced bulletin by BBC World for the Heathrow Express train service in London.

Interesting. How many editions are recorded per day?

Im sorry but why in news name is a programme about Heathrow's express service been broadcast if these cuts are so essential to warrent the cut of Buisness Today.
Oh why even bother arguing. They're cutting a really quite good programme and thats that.
Its OK I suppose, at least there not cutting World Buisness Report so I can get up at 3:30 in the morning to watch that.
Thanks BBC News.

It's not ABOUT the Heathrow Express -- it's FOR the Heathrow Express. A short BBC World bulletin is broadcast on every journey on that train from Heathrow Airport. They'll get paid for it!

The Heathrow Express News programme is a BBC Worldwide production. It actually generates money for the BBC as its bought as a media package.

Business coverage on News 24 is pretty awful, and I agree with the original comment that it is too consumer-focused. Company share prices are only mentioned if they are those of:
a) Tesco/Sainsbury
b) Shell/BP
c) M&S/Arcadia

Julia Caesar is a joke and is my least favourite part of News 24 - I feel I'm not alone here?

I would prefer to see Business Today replaced by decent business journalism throughout the day, but I suspect this is unlikely to happen.

It is a shame if Business Today is scraped. I have watched it many times and find it to be very useful. If it was on at 21:30 it would be more helpful but i believe World Business Report is broadcast then so it would not be possible. Its one of those few programmes that keeps News 24 different from other News Channels.

sorry - am a newbie here and just so glad that there are people out there who take business news as seriously as I do!
