According to the news channels, there is a plane on fire in Toronto airport with 200 people on board. News 24 were very late in covering it.

Apparently, it was travelling from France but it appears to be an accident, not terrorist related.

AP now saying there are some survivers. Also it was an Air France A340 Aircraft.

Apparently a CBC cameraman was filming the thunderstorm when the plane crash happened so we may see they pictures very soon.

..although it might be a bit tasteless to show, since there's most likely injuries/deaths.

ITV just trailed the story before the last part of Taggart. I don't watch much ITV1 these days, is it normal for them to have a news trailer at around 10.15?

Both American and Canadian networks are covering this story quite well. The story about the CBC cameraman is false. I live in Canada and the CBC havn't shown anything.

He was recording. Doesn't neccessarily mean that it was shown live. Anyway, someone from CBC phoned Sky News.

You can view CTV Live (with less graphics than UK channels) here.

Radio reports saying that most passengers are safe but it sounds unlikely.
