I hate that studio - despite all the VR, it looks so flat and uninspiring.
Not really had chance to see the coverage, but it looks as though they all stuck with what we saw last year - BBC Two with the usual rancid looking attempts at graphics, Sky's pretty sober affair that they've gone with for the past 3/4 years, and ITV's er... ''effort''.
Presumably the BBC 'box' will be making an appearance during the election campaign?
EDIT: Might be worth turning this thread into an election build up thread. I'm assuming that there'll be some pretty drastic changes. Sky is all red and blue - as it was pre-election last time - so that'll have to go, and we already know about the BBC's attempt. Only a couple of weeks until they'll be on air.
I thought Alastair Stewart in the VR (which didn't look anywhere near enough impressive as usual) was pretty good - summed up the points well although lacked the depth that the other channels went into.
BBC felt suitably cluttered as usual but I did like their approach to delaying the speeches of the responses from the opposition parties, as they were going out live on BBC2 and BBC Parliament - meant they were well away into "analysis" but much of the information they were trying to convey seemed very confused and I didn't feel none the wiser thanks to the poor on screen graphics.
Sky's coverage was good - and I think they really had the balance struck well - Martin Stanford providing a good coverage of what it meant and also had that little bit more detail I mentioned earlier. Also possibly the best graphics they've had for 4 years in the VR studio - although still feeling a little bit cheap and plastic.
Also thought Julie Etchingham and Michael Wilson were excellent as ever - I think Sky are blessed by having them on the shift usually anyway as they're an excellent team.
Pretty decent coverage from all channels though - although some better than others. Now excuse me, I'm going to contemplate an extra penny on my pint from Sunday.
