We can’t Brexit in May. BBC News can’t adopt Reith and cover a major story at the same time! 😂

Implementing Reith makes implementing Brexit look simple.

Reith means Reith. It will be implemented, it is the will of the BBC... Laughing

It's now on its 4th vote, sorry, implementation! Very Happy

But what about the 20 year betrayal of Gill? Wink

Why is it taking them so long to implement the new font? I may be wrong as I was only a little boy at the time but back in 1997 when the BBC logo changed and everything went to Gill Sans wasn't it practically done overnight, including all BBC channels, BBC News, BBC Sport, BBC Weather etc?

Yes, Balloon idents introduced, yellow and black CBBC look, re-logo'd BBC Two, VR-set BBC News intro. All on 4 October.

Think the new BBC logo was already on Ceefax (though, how would you tell).

BBC Parliament have put 50p in the meter and fired up the Millbank studio for their coverage of tonight's votes(!)

Statement from the PM coming. Inside N.10 (but only because of the rain.)
Crest meaning probably not an election announcement. In 2017 there was no crest when the PM announced the election - because an election is party political. In theory I suppose one could be announced with a crest but it would mean no setting out of pitch, polices, slogans etc.

Sure it'll be as significant as the last 23 statements. Getting #BrexJaVu now.

Out of curiosity why would no crest would suggest calling an election? Surely calling one would be an act of government unless I assume it’s a party election for deciding a new PM.

Then again here in the US they use the presidential podium for any speech given by the President or Vice President with crest even if it’s campaigning. I think there may be some sort of protection inside it where they can duck for in case of emergency.
