Did BBC 2 just fail to opt out of the News Channel?

Huw wrapped up all nice and neatly and BBC Two stays with the News Channel. Didn't expect that, assumed it was a cock up at first

Interestingly even though Huw signed off that news continues on BBC One, the news still looks to be continuing on BBC Two anyway.

BBC2 could have left by now really.

What a fiasco, we’ve now got a half hearted BBC News on BBC Two followed by BBC News at Ten on BBC One

I assume BBC Two were supposed to have opted out.

This is now a bit odd... unless they're sliding the schedule so Newsnight still follows the Ten?

Apparently now listed as a News Special til Newsnight starts!

IMO even if there wasn't a statement scheduled, on such a momentous news week, the news should have been on BBC One at 10pm, where BBC viewers expect to find it.

Definitely feels like an unintentional continuation on BBC2. Unless they want Newsnight to start as the Ten finishes and feel it's easier to stay with the news than find another filler.

Graphics have been added, looks like News Channel until Newsnight
IS

Though I imagine there's quite a bit of pressure to have some news on at 10, even on BBC Two. There's not enough time for their planned programme

They maybe haven't got a spare 20 minute filler programme to show until Newsnight so maybe find it easier to stay with the BBC News Channel. But Huw could have just handed straight back to Clive, especially as They were both introduced during the ident.
