Is TC1 not at their disposal?! Considering the BBC own it. Though granted the recording schedules for The Graham Norton Show and The Jonathan Ross Show would mean that it's already likely booked up.

If there's a snap election and Elstree is unavailable, I guess they'd have to resort to NBH, although is there a studio big enough for such a grand, possibly dramatic occasion?

Other than TC1, can't think of many other options... are The London Studios still usable (at least with an OB unit or something)? Would be a certain irony there.

I’m sure either Elstree or TC1 would be available, I doubt they are that busy, plus I’m sure they could rejig the bookings if all they were filming was something to be televised in six months time.

TC1 is booked solid with entertainment shows and will not be available for a general election. Elstree Studio D will be the home for all future general elections. I believe they even built in extra facilities to accommodate general elections/referendums etc at Elstree.

Just this week TC1 has The Jonathan Ross Show, The Graham Norton Show and The Last Leg using it over three consecutive days. TC1 is very popular now for large entertainment shows and BBC Studioworks are making the most out of it.

This is very true, and the election set they have can't just be thrown up anywhere in a jiffy, so they'd need to book it for a good few days.

So Elstree then?

That is right. Their election sets are massive and need at least a week to install. It is not a quick turnaround set. Elstree Studio D suits it, as it is also slightly bigger than TC1 too.

Yes, I think that is the safe bet. They have been there since 2015, tried and tested for them.
