I believe, plus the later in December the election is held, the fewer students will still be in their university towns, which benefits Labour and Lib Dem candidates more than Tory.
I presume that uni students are capable of understanding the 'postal vote' process.
I notice the NC has stayed with live coverage of the Commons debate rather than simulcasting the Six.

Or indeed the fact that the 9th and the 12th are the same week, so students will either be at uni or they won’t on both days.

Some Students are part time or plan to skip sessions at the end of the week if not vital.
No10 sources say the election date in the government’s impending election bill - expected later this evening - will be “on the range” between December 9 and 12. So it’s 10 or 11th. https://t.co/NBRUsnchSP
Lectures probably won't be on in that last week but students might still be around for in-person assessments
Students apart, Thursday nights in December are traditionally late night Christmas shopping evenings. Not sure whether that would make a visit to a polling station on the way back more or less likely!?
Well I just done a straw poll of the nearest two main unis to me, the ‘main’ one finishes teaching on the 13th and the ‘met’ finishes on the 20th. As a former student of a met uni, I don’t recall an overly long Christmas break or any very early finish.

I graduated this summer but the middle of December was our latest finish with all assessments in January.
