You can literally say any date in the future (after 5 weeks) is a possible date.

December 9th now a possible date.

Worth clarifying (as you haven’t) that this is a Lib Dem plan.

A pre - Christmas election looking more likely.

Just got a feeling this will end up even more of a mess than when we started.

Alot depends on the extension given by the EU - some suggestions if France got their way it wouldn't be long enough to allow an election.

Without getting into the politics I will be surprised if an extension is vetoed by the French government. The 9th December plan looks like it will have enough to pass if the government back it.

Really don't get why they'd object to the 12th but approve the 9th - 3 days is hardly going to make a difference.

From a broadcasting point of view the election night coverage won't be much different other than not being on a Thursday but the lead up being over the weekend might see the build up be slightly different to normal.

Means no time for it to be a post Brexit election.

Means ITV would have to fit debates around I'm a celeb especially as usually STV, UTV and ITV Wales host their own debates which would need fitting in.

Look at where having TV debates has got us.

But just think of the scope for so many hilarious election related puns and trials....

Finally some interesting Brexit news - Matt Lucas and David Walliams are reuniting for Little Brexit, though for radio rather than TV.

Is this the first time Walliams & Lucas have worked together since Come Fly with Me?
