Why can’t the 6 start at 6 and end at 6.40? Same for Ten??

I may be totally wrong but you’d expect correct info from the BBC PR team.

We shall see what indeed happens on ‘god’s earth’.

Why would you delay the news that is scheduled at 5:30 to start at 6:00, just so you can say it’s at six.

There's enough upheaval tomorrow in the day, I suspect the last thing the BBC (or any broadcaster for that matter) would want is to rip up their prime evening schedule, un-necessarily. Once the business concludes, and the chatter becomes trite and regurgitated they'll want to get back to normal asap. I do however, with the 'open ended' order paper, feel that without expert control of business in Parliament that discussion might still be in progress as evening approaches. Tomorrow is totally unpredictable.

Sky and the BBC (and ITN if they decide to cover) will have a field day.

Strictly Come Dancing being live means they can't rip up the schedules anyway.

Weird decision to leave the Darts on BBC 1 in the afternoon and move the actual Brexit vote to BBC 2. They should definitely have moved the Darts to BBC 2 and kept the news coverage going on BBC 1.

On the digiguide listings for BBC1 for tomorrow i've got it's

13:00-Lunchtime News
13:15-News Special with Christian Fraser
16:30-Final Score
17:15:An extended Early Evening News

Then the rest of the day as scheduled

Same on the bbc schedule site. They must have got it wrong on the tweet.

They could have put pointless on at 5.15 and then the 6 at 6 leading into Strictly.

The News isn't exactly a great lead in.

Yep the Listings have updated and it looks like digiguide was right!

Having the news at 5.15 with a 5.50 finish also means it doesn’t clash with Newsnight on BBC 2.

The late ITV Weekend News has also been brought forward and extended and now airs at 10:00, with Jonathan Ross moving to 10:30

The teatime news is already at 6:00 and along with the regional news is in a half hour slot

The Nine on BBC Scotland got their main presenters in to present the Friday bulletin this evening, with Martin at Westminster.

Considering the serious implications for Scotland should the deal be approved, they may want to scrap tomorrow's Seven Days and extend The Seven to an hour.
