No special programme on BBC tonight? Normally they would have extended This Week with Andrew Neil to cover the result but doesn't seem to be anything on. Surprised to see no coverage for a by-election that looks set to be quite close, and Boris' first as new PM.
Sky is running a news special with Sophy Ridge and Lewis Goodall presenting live.
From what I've seen BBC1 hands over to the NC at 00.45 where I'd expect the usual filler to pad out until 1am when we get Newsday with a tokenistic mention of the result between an Asian skewed news agenda.

It appears that the BBC are opting to show a 30-minute interview with a Labour politician 3 times between now and 5 am rather than show any real coverage of this byelection that Labour has no realistic prospect of winning (but which could well be the first part of the PM losing his majority)...
(the same edition of HardTalk is currently listed as being shown at 0:30,2:30 and 4:30 which I assume is either lazy scheduling or an error in the listings)

I won't be surprised if Sophy and Lewis pack up at 3am with the duty overnight presenter in Studio 6 until 6am if the result is announced before then of course!

And no coverage of the ongoing Derbyshire dam problems? During the 10pm news we were told disaster could strike at any moment?

Wonder if Victoria Derbyshire will be live in Derbyshire this morning to make up for it?
Suspect most people complaining about it would have been in bed at the time anyway. Considering the BBC is being ripped to shreds to keep commercial rival media companies happy it is only right once in a while the commercial sector steps up and takes on PSB responsibilities such as this. Fair play to Sky News considering the audience was likely in the low thousands.
Be nicer and more tolerant to each other. Them's the rules.

The BBC don't help themselves with that
'The Weekends are different on the News Channel'
promo (the one with the washing line of seven garments) . You'd be forgiven for thinking they are deliberatly decending into CNN style fluff programming
