Surprised with all their resources in Salford the BBC haven't managed to get at least a sports or North West Today reporter to the scene yet (in fact in these circumstances I'd argue it'd have been worth sacrificing the overnight sport today presenter to cover it if there was no one else available).

CNN, NHK WORLD, Fox News, RT, TRT World showing various forms of reporting. Some just using the ticker. Others interrupting programmes.

I dont believe there have anyone in Salford at that time.

They must do. How can they not always have a reporter on standby. Just a single reporter.

MSNBC was doing some rolling coverage during the last hour. CNN International in rolling coverage. CNN US is not covering.

THe lack of a reporter and no live images until a few minutes ago is not good. But Manchester is a major city with major broadcast facilities. This is just amazing. That it took this long to finally get some live pics up. And still no reporters fanned out across the city. They showed images from peoples apartments showing the emergency services arriving from twitter. Woulda been nice to have tower cams in place for such a reason, until reporters can be scrambled. I've never seen such a slow response.

There is a Radio Manchester reporter there, but other than vox pops from the walking wounded there is very little to report.

Just to confirm, by the way, Newsday have just gone completely with the rolling news on this story, with the world clock graphic still on screen obscuring picture credits.
