She did
As Critique pointed out here, she did change within an hour. I imagine that it would be fairly difficult to co-ordinate everyone and while, in an ideal world she would have been wearing something more formal from the start, I expect the BBC simply wanted to get her on air as soon after arriving. My point wasn't trying to say that it was the best choice of dress for the event, simply that given the magnitude of the events, I expect that people's focus were on areas as opposed to her choice of clothes.

Wardrobe malfunction: Victoria Derbyshire wears a bomber jacket to report from the scene of the Mcr arena bomb #bbc #victoriaderbyshire

The thing is Louise Minchin was already at the scene and surely could have continued for an additional couple of minutes while Victoria changed into a more appropriate outfit.

Unfortunate to see some very rushed interviews with some attendees at the Albert Square ceremony this evening, on North West Tonight.
The interviewer (Annabel Tiffin) barely let each person (except the final one) utter more than a few words before overtalking them - she was quite rude to be honest. If they're going to have interviews about something as important as this, they could at least allow enough time for them to be done properly or not do them at all.
A shame because the rest of the programme was top quality.

Agreed. Evoked this country's 'togetherness' a million times more effectively than BBC 1's pitiful attempts since Jan 1
One of the best continuity announcements I've ever heard. Perfect wording and the tone was flawless. That sent shivers down my spine.

I'm aware that Victoria's usual morning programme deviates from the usual formalities on a news programme but I find it hard to believe she'd be wearing jeans on it. So why was she dressed so casually this morning?

Going through my recording of ITV News Tyne Tees, the bulletin was live from Manchester.

She mentioned she travelled by train. The earliest would have from London Euston would have got her there for 0828. I suppose not much time to get ready. Anyway moving on.....

I'm sorry, but no. There is an expectation that unless you are presenting Newsround, or reporting from some difficult environment/weather conditions, TV news presenters will be dressed smartly. When a news presenter rocks up on air looking like this, it is worthy of comment.
I thought this place was better than judging female newsreaders based on what they're wearing.
