Phil Williams stayed on a little longer after 2.00 to cover the press conference which was postponed in the end, I think Dotun Adebayo was the presenter scheduled to be on overnight and took over.

The BBC have updated their EPG but ITV's still says Jeremy Kyle is on.

Listening to Radio 1 and Nick Grimshaw mentioned they're playing all music this morning, though they don't appear to be playing anything particulary sombre, just the usual playlisted pop music.

Understandable considering the demographic of their audience, they're not going to be in the mood for banter or high jinks. I'd imagine it's not exactly their usual playlist, they'll have been very careful with what they're playing.

6 Music is similar - with half of their output being Salford-based, understandably so.

Radio, especially 5 Live is so much better at this sort of thing - the pictures are better of course and it takes fewer resources to cover to a decent standard.

Proud of one of my colleagues - a freelance engineer deployed to Manchester for extra election coverage. He got up, took the radiocar down to the scene and ended up being a reporter for 5 Live during the early hours. Not his job, could have refused but helped get information on the air.
