Listening to Radio 1 and Nick Grimshaw mentioned they're playing all music this morning, though they don't appear to be playing anything particulary sombre, just the usual playlisted pop music.

Understandable considering the demographic of their audience, they're not going to be in the mood for banter or high jinks. I'd imagine it's not exactly their usual playlist, they'll have been very careful with what they're playing.

Breakfast continuing on BBC One and the NC until around 9:30. Victoria Derbyshire will then take over from Manchester on One and the NC. Alternative programming on BBC Two.

Currently no changes to the BBC One schedule, however as campaigning has been suspended I suspect the Andrew Neil interview will be postponed and replaced with a news special. I'm guessing Victoria Derbyshire on BBC Two may also be more rolling/breaking news based today.

Edit: Dan has just announced he thinks they're staying on air until 9.30am.

I can confirm this. BBC Two is running Coast.

Coast on at the moment, I assume BBC One programmes will move to Two at 9.15.

I honestly think 5 Live are doing the best job at reporting this.

This was Phil Williams by the way, just to give credit where its due. He did a stellar job considering the circumstances, calm and authoritative, avoiding speculation.

Newsround ran a VT for 55 seconds this morning. Exceptional.

I think it's odd that ITV News didn't even come on air with a flash at all during the night.

Disgraceful really and the excuses being made for them don't wash. If the Queen had died they'd have got to air. The fact the website was being updated shows the news gathering team were working and they have staff they could call on, plus at Granada. Nobody is saying they should have stayed on air all night but they should at least have had newsflashes or even just a strap pointing people to the website.

Why is it odd? It's pretty obvious why there wasn't a news flash.

Not to me - please explain?

Firstly, there would have been very few staff working at ITN in the early hours of the morning. There certainly won't have been camera operators, directors, vision mixers, etc. to get a bulletin on air. Secondly, there would have only been a very small audience at that time - BARB viewing figures would probably round down to 0. There was no need for a news flash, the vast majority of the audience would start watching at 6am.

Oh, seems I misunderstood. I thought ITV was a Public Service Broadcaster.

Victoria Derbyshire is still not on the air. CA read out this announcement over the Silk ident at 9:15 on BBC Two, leading into a summer special of Animal Park.
"Following last night's events in Manchester, Breakfast continues with the latest news on BBC One. Here on BBC Two, with a change to our programmes this morning, now we join Ben and Kate."

Meanwhile, STV is handing over to ITV News.

UPDATE, 9:30: BBC One Scotland has directly handed over to the News Channel.

Had better things to do overnight such as sleep so haven't been joining in on the usual nonsense of 'why did it take the BBC and Sky so long to get pictures of a bit of police tape 3 blocks away from the explosion and why aren't they chartering a plane so Huw Edwards can anchor the 4am bulletin from amongst the bodies'....

The first bit of coverage I heard (and the only bit I'll hear or see for a while as I don't want to put the telly on as my little'uns are too young for this sort of thing) was 5live. They had the most powerful eyewitness interview which left Nicky Campbell momentarily speechless as he pulled himself together. Radio, especially 5 Live is so much better at this sort of thing - the pictures are better of course and it takes fewer resources to cover to a decent standard.
