It seems everything is getting back to normal - London Bridge being reopened.

So ITV pulls away from a continuing news story which affects many people in the UK's capital... for Jackpot247. Dreadful.

Clearly if it's "dreadful", it's a bit offensive. Whilst we are worrying about offensiveness, can we complain about it being offensive and insensitive to go to an inappropriate 'fun' programme whilst serious incidents are ongoing like this? And therefore to claim that this broke Ofcom rules. So much for broadcasters being concerned about those rules, it might be argued.

Why do people think this isn't "clean"? Other countries may well be non-English speaking countries so surely it doesn't matter?

Anyway, if this were true, then they should keep *everything* completely child-friendly and broadcast no distressing images or anything like that at all as any child might be watching in a foreign country.

If I'm honest, I haven't heard what the word is, I don't know how bad the word is. But this will still be shown in the US and in Australasia.

Its the worst swear word you can say if that helps you guess it.

Yes. The 'C' one.

Unfortunately not normal for anyone affected seriously by this tragedy, but I know what you mean.

No it's not. That's the racially offensive word beginning with 14th letter of the alphabet when used in racist contexts. In contrast to that, the word that was used is not the worst.

Awful news that has unfolded over the past few hours.

After watching parts of the coverage from all broadcasters, I have to say that they have all done tremendously well for a Saturday evening.
The cameraman, Pete on Sky News captured very frightening pictures as an arrest was made with the police ordering people to get back.

As for ITV, it is a difficult situation for the fact that with no news channel, there aren't the scheduled resources so had to take the time to get reporters, satellite trucks and presumably extra news gathering staff into place. As for them coming off air, unlike BBC One (who would have joined the news channel after the film anyway) ITV is still a commercial business, and with no developing leads incoming the company would have made the decision to end it and go to the commercial broadcast of Jackpot 24/7. I am surprised that they haven't made any plans to begin broadcasting earlier that 8:25 in the morning, though again it will depend on staffing levels for a Sunday morning.

Can we just stop now. This is a place to talk about coverage of the London Terror Incidents, not 'What is the worst swear word in the English language'.
