I'd appreciate some strap/info/ticket on ITV, presume they're not prepared for that?

Surely if they are loading up 'Live' bugs, they could have a strap with the headline?

ITV just played the clip but muted it at the point the offensive piece of language is used.

Bet that makes no difference as the mute probably stands out more than the words themselves, which I hardly noticed until Martine Croxall made the apology. Anyway, back to the sorry incident...

Even knowing according to reports here that there was bad language I still didn't notice it since I was watching the video

Sky have just showed the clip with the offensive language AGAIN.

Could anyone give a hint on what was said?

Maybe they are quite stretched so nobody is available to edit it. I bet even Sky News doesn't have 100 people on hand at 00:40 on a Saturday night.

I'd argue that it is perfectly reasonable to play it unedited in the early hours especially if they are warning before it is played.

According to Ofcom rules, You can't air racist slurs or very strong language at any time unless it is justified, and definitely not over and over again.

Apologies for it, then played it AGAIN. Face palm.

It's 40 minutes past midnight - we are all adults! I realise why they apologise, although these "apologies" are getting a bit tiresome, especially as I don't think they really mean them but only give them because they have to. Nonetheless, there are some people that HATE (their emphasis) that word. Hate is a very strong word and I hate terrorism instead.

Anyway...

I have gone to the "catch-up". ITV seemed to be running quite a few adverts (though to be fair I don't really watch ITV) - I wonder if in preparation for a long period of breaking news.

ITV could do with some sort of caption explaining what's going on.

I was actually thinking it was quite refreshing not to have graphics cluttering up the screen and letting the pictures tell the story.

Are they staying on air - sounds like they're signing off and Jackpot 24/7 is still scheduled.

EDIT: Gone off air for some live gambling as the capital is under attack. ITV News say they'll update viewers in seven and a half hours.

I think signing off now is the right move, but there wont be back until 08.25?
