BBC FOUR briefly aired an IPP, directing viewers to breaking news coverage on BBC ONE.

Dramatic situation unfolding live on air - all of the media being moved back, armed cars coming through. Respect to Angus Walker, who just picked up the necessary equipment, and kept reporting on the move.

Rohit in the studio for ITV News. I'm glad they waited to get correspondents in the studio, before just rushing on air in a frenzy.

BBC has been told to move there live position

ITV too, quite something to watch

Well, if the police feel the need to expand the cordon, then it will be expanded and there is nothing that can be done about it. Unfortunately, it appears to be frequently expanding.

WE NOW HAVE ITV NEWS!

Good, About 25 minutes too late IMO though. Should have came on right after footie.

These things can't just happen instantly. ITV News have Angus Walker on the scene, speaking to eyewitnesses.

ITV had an hour to prepare to get on air though. All easy to say in hindsight but it was pretty clear what this was when the story broke (in advance of the scheduled bulletin), unlike Manchester where there was a little bit of hope that it may not have been a terrorist attack and it took some time to establish that it was.

BIG problem for ITV now is what about the morning? Will there be a NEWS special at 7am? I dont believe there should live all night, but maybe an hour or two if possible the now. ( my original point was when Manchester happen it was like nothing until 7 hours later.)

Sounds to me anything less than ITV News 24/7 on ITV would still not be good enough. ITV doesn't having a rolling news channel, deal with it. More should have watched it when they did.

Bit of an exaggeration.

The phrase "right place, right time" definitely applies in Lucrezia's case, considering that, obviously, it would be too dangerous for her to leave 200 Gray's Inn Road right now.

The BBC have just showed that same clip from the pub with the same language - plenty of apologies from Maxine

Ant posted:
Just saw a video on Sky News of Police telling everyone to get down in a bar, believed to be Southwark Tavern .

With an extremely offensive term shouted by someone at the very end.

If that's what people complain about tonight then they've really got their priorities wrong.

Apparently nobody from the BBC is reading this thread...

No-one called Maxine has been anywhere near the BBC this evening...

BBC just played that bar clip uncensored too! Had to apologise for any offensive language afterwards and that they'll have to edit it if they show it again.

Thing is you can only go on air with rolling news when you're ready to roll. No good rushing to air when you've not got enough to sustain your coverage. They've now got a 'presenters friend' in the studio and two correspondants on the scene, so in a much better position to go on air with decent coverage than they were after the football

At least there was an apology, unlike on Sky.
