Is it not time for N6 to revamp aswell - perhaps an improved corporate style could be introduced across both studios.

Surely it is time now ,nearly two years on, for a new set or complete revamp??

I would like to see that too!
But I do think the Breakfast looks more stale and outdated though...

Soon = 3 Years does it?
In comparison to the life expectancy, then i would have to say yes.

Well the national studio will be 2 years old on 20th January, so I doubt there will be a complete new look, but there could be a few changes. ie. The 1999 - 2003, got a revamp in December 2001, so maybe a few changes to the current set may take place soon.

I think BBC News should wipe the slate completely clean in terms of it's presentation, and start again.
It launched in 1999 with what was at the time a rather good across-the-board revamp. Since then though, the BBC has not used Lambie-Nairn in the design of studios and titles - and it shows.
I hate the clunky and almost Powerpoint looking titles on National & News 24. I've seen far better mocks on this forum than what the BBC has come up with.
Who's idea was it to have an exploding globe at the top of the title sequence? it looks cheap and the idea behind it is ill-thought out.
Next time the BBC should use a professional design agency such as Lambie Nairn, because it's obvious BBC Broadcast can't design their way out of a paper bag!

Well, as BBC News is in the middle of a huge cost cutting exercise, and will be moving to Broadcasting House in 3 years time (if not less) I very much doubt that a relaunch will happen in the mean time.
They are probably thinking about how BBC News will look in 2008 at the moment too. The new building will almost definitely shape the design of any new titles and probably influence the whole look. For example, I've heard that a pulse of light or something will shine from the new building at the TOTH so that'll prob be used in the titles.
Anyway, I like the current look of BBC News and the way it's evolved over the last five years, but for those that don't, I wouldn't expect change soon.
