As you will be aware, on Wednesday the BBC Breakfast studio became a victim of the previous night's weather and so Breakfast moved to the news 24 studio for one morning only.

I would like to know how the studio was flooded or whatever when the following day it looks unphased. Any help? Confused

Just out of interest, was anyone seriously expecting any answer to that question other than "they mopped up"?

Is the BREAKFAST Studio on The Ground floor, so it would eb at risk of flooding?
I know the Nationional news is on the same floor as the ground of the news centre (not ground floor) and then upstairs is BBC News 24and BBC World?

I suppose they could have brought in a herd of horses, but they are notorious for not drinking on demand.

Breakfast is in TC7 which is a normal studio on the grouns floor.

Oddly though it was the gallery on the first floor which was flooded and not the main studio floor although, as harshy said, when you're draining a 1960s building 7 floors high not all the water stays on the ground floor.

Yep, it's something like that, although BBC World isn't classed as being in the News Centre - it's in Stage V, which is part of TVC.

No, it's not on the ground floor. The Ground floor of TV Centre is the same level throughout the building, the storeys don't get out of sync in news

AIUI the problem was that, to save money, the storm drains hadn't been cleaned out by LST, the company which runs the buildings.

Thus when there was some heavy rain the drains overflowed and emptied into the air conditioning system and ended up in the gallery
