For the set tweaks, I'm hoping a set like the Election 2015 set will be introduced. A large monitor with the Skyline view on it, and then the newsroom background. The new titles sound interesting, featuring the different cities.

I didn't really like the desk they used for the election. It seemed to stick out like a sore thumb.

I agree, maybe the incorporation of the monitors made it look strange?
I would like to see the current desk, with a similar backdrop as the one above. Obviously the set shouldn't be quite so substantial. A London skyline with the clock face over it could go in place of the two large images, then relevant images to the story on the other monitors.
I didn't like the election backdrop - no depth to it, very cluttered with all the screens and the two 'windows' shoehorned in. Julie's touchscreen was incredibly small, at times making it hard to read the names of constituencies. As Gary says above the desk was very awkwardly tweaked too. I think they tried too hard to keep 'on brand' with election night that the result didn't really meet what was needed.
The backdrop behind Julie was much better than the main backdrop behind Tom. The "screen" though was incredibly difficult to read - was much better in 2010 when they filled the whole backdrop with the information.
I just hope whatever they do they do it well as they're sacrificing the best look ITV News has had in years to make it happen. I'd be surprised if it strayed too much from the ITV News brand, especially in the case of the studio. I'd probably slightly favour an atrium backdrop over the skyline, but I'm prepared to be surprised too. As long as it isn't a gallery of pictures of Tom is should be fine.
In other news interesting to see News at Ten tweeting what's coming up in an hour's time - hasn't happened before for a weekend bulletin. Will they be crafting Sunday's 10pm news into a weekend NAT?
They're not going to catch us anawares with a weekend relaunch tonight are they?
Do they usually use the generic late titles for the Sunday news or do they use the 10pm version if it's at Ten. To be fair it's probably at 10pm more often on a Sunday than any other night of the week - I can only think of it moving for the extended premiere/finale episodes of Downton Abbey.
That Guardian article posted above suggests Peston on Sunday is likely to air either at noon, 5pm or 10pm - and I'd say the latter is the most likely - though 10.15pm to be precise as I think they'd play the news out first. If they do rebrand the Sunday edition as News at Ten though they probably should give Julie the Sunday shift on a regular basis so she can at least present some form of "News at Ten" twice a week.
Yes that's right. Still branded as ITV News & Weather on the EPG tonight though! Had a look through the week and it seems NAT is scheduled for 45 mins every night next week (apart from Tuesday's which is 40 mins as usual).
Very interesting they want to go a bit left-field with Peston on Sunday.
