It definately came up again though soon after it moved to 6.30pm, and again more recently too. I think back in the 90s 8pm might have also been mentioned.

What I meant was the process started in 1992,
I still have some news cutting, so I might dig them back out a repost them here, if need be.
Alex Chandler, currently Editor of ITV News London, has been appointed Senior Programme Editor of ITV News at Ten. Alex will take up his new role in August

Good move, he's been great at making every single second of the ITV News London main bulletin credible despite having very little resources. Something which I'm sure he'll bring to News at Ten.

I hope the whole of ITV News isn't getting a rebrand at the same time
It's also important to note Alex Chandler was programme editor of NAT for its 2008 relaunch with Trevor and Julie. Really does seem like they're returning the programme to a more distinctive and individual identity than at present - which isn't surprising when you consider News at Ten's best ratings came before the 2009 'realignment'.
Still not fully sold on Tom Bradby as sole host... but I do think NAT needs this forthcoming editorial refresh. Some nights recently it's started to feel like a repeat of the 6:30 rather than the solid programme it was back in the skyline era.
Everything that is known about the forthcoming changes to NAT has been (or will be) posted in this thread. So no, we don't know anything about any potential changes to presentation, nor do we know when Mark and Julie will present the programme together for the last time.
