Was very impressed that Mark Mardell was able to compile a relatively detailed report quite quickly for the Ten. I like the approach the BBC takes with breaking news like this where they do tend to keep a packaged report for the top of the hour. The others appeared to have only done so a few hours later.
Sometimes when channels just repeat the same loops of 30 seconds of footage and go from one eyewitness to the next I find it hard as a viewer to grasp an overview of what's happened and get a sense of the wider picture of everything that is going on. I suppose that's the difference between rolling news and more structured news programmes with greater editorial input. They both have their different strengths.
