Does anyone know if the marathon being shown on TV at the time or recorded for later broadcast at all?

I imagine it was getting some live TV coverage somewhere. Being one of the top 6 or 7 marathons in the world.

Apparently the blasts took place 3 hours after the winners crossed the line. Unsure whether it was being streamed live.

Is it a holiday in the States with it being run on a Monday?

Thatchers funeral should prevent the news here going to OTT on this - it's tragic of course but fairly minor so far in the grand scheme of things, though knowing America they'll be more outrage at this than there is at a school shooting. One added angle here though is it's the London Marathon next weekend so that's one angle for journalists to explore without flying out to Boston.

Yes. It's Patriot's Day. From what I've been hearing.

BBC World News has been running double-headed for the last 45 minutes or so with Philippa Thomas and Tanya Beckett presenting.

To answer my own question, it looks like it was streaming online...

Not available in the UK (by design). Is the stream working for anyone in one of the supported countries? What is it currently showing?

Sky News double headed with Martin Stamford and Anna Jones.

Anna seems to be presenting, or more like narrating, whilst Martin seems to be scrutinising the footage to build a picture of what has happened.

DVB Cornwall
CBS Boston WBZ4 Feed as I linked to seems to be doing it's best on location.

I'm using the link DVB Cornwall posted, to view CBS coverage. Shame the BBC don't seem to be dipping into anything like this.

Don't forget we're discussing the coverage of tonight's event live on **.

I am appalled you are trying to 'sell' a dying chatroom in this thread, which is discussing a major public disaster. How low, especially when said chatroom isn't even discussing the events of this evening, but instead (after logging in to check), how Critique and Bilky Asko are the same user.

Have the US networks then broken into rolling news or is it just channels in the Boston area? Seems to be local coverage on that CBS link, and even there they seem to be almost willing it to be a more significant story than it already is.
