"ABC: A Franklin St resident said: after looking into the boat to fix the cover, another resident saw blood - and then called 911." Scary.

The more I watch this coverage the more it reminds me of the Raoul Moat standoff.

Sky finally have astons but the ticker is static yellow again.

Well sort of, they haven't learnt to rotate the lower text yet.

And yes, the ticker is broken again.

The overnight team really do need some training on using the graphics, it's such a common problem overnight - I'm surprised it hasn't been addressed. The BBC, or any other main news channel don't have such issues.

Edit, and now we lose the live/locator.

NBC's coverage with Brian Williams is superb. No wild speculation, just quality news reporting.

Sky's overnight coverage threadbare, and quite frankly, inadequate.

+1 Pete Williams has some seriously good sources! Worth noting that he is doing all his reporting from Washington.

And I agree Pete Williams has done a fine job on this story, though he's always a great reporter.

The BBC [...] don't have such issues.

Well there's a very good reason for the BBC not having problems overnight - I shouldn't think you need telling.

I'm not normally critical of Sky News but their coverage since 12am has been, well, poor.

Philippa Thomson is doing an excellent job presenting - and seems to be the only saving grace.

From what it seems, come 12am the overnight gallery team can't operate the on screen graphics properly, especially not being able to use the astons and the ticker failing.

Plus only one reporter on scene, although Dominic Waghorn is very good - but shouldn't he be relieved? He seems to have been there all day.

Yes, Sky who have been exemplary for the past 24 hours have let themselves down. I don't know why the gallery team couldn't stay for a few more hours along with Mark Longhurst. They are evidently very thin on the ground in Watertown and London.

So they can use the aston graphics and animations for the Chinese earthquake, but not for anything else?
