BBCWN continues with their own coverage, still with dual-presenters...

by the way, Just saw the Breakfillers...
and the times for Focus on Africa & World News Today are all blank... I wonder why.

Interesting to see Yalda Hakim presenting the World News/News Channel simualcast. Shes obviously experienced with foreign news considering her old job, but I can't help thinking shes a bit 'awkward', anyone else get that feeling?

On NBC, Today, which was brilliantly anchored solo by Savannah Guthrie, ended at 12pm NY time, Brian Williams of Nightly News now anchoring continuing coverage.

On BBC World the previous hour was presented by Yalda and Ross Atkins before Julian replaced him for the simulcast. Interesting to see double headed presentation in that studio.

Although Katty Kay thinking it was still Ros when Julian handed over to her.

Yalda is wonderful on the eye, I know what people are saying about her looking 'awkward' on screen for this news. I suppose all new rolling news presenters have to have a breaking story on the fly to get the feeling of being thrown in it at the deep end, as it were.

Yes, sad to say, I don't think her journalistic skills were paramount in the decision to employ her. It's the sort of thing you expect from American networks and Sky News. You'd hope the BBC wouldn't make recruitment choices on such superficial criteria, but it appears they might have in this case...

...still, maybe I'm being a bit harsh. She might improve...

Julian has moved to Studio E, and BBCWN now simulcasts BBC News channel...
It seems Focus on Africa has been pre-empted (or only for African relay stations).
