Boston Marathon 'Explosion'

BBC World News and BBC News channels are both covering the Boston Marathon Bombing / Watertown Manhunt, but doing separate coverage...

World now simulcasting NC.

BBC World News is now simulcasts BBC News channel from Studio E, still with the Watertown coverage.
They used the long BBCNC open though.

I wonder if Mark Austin will be returning to Boston from Texas.

Is BBC Two using the BBC News channel feed right now, or BBC World News?

BBCWN is breaking away from the News channel coverage and now airing GMT with Zeinab (with a hoarse voice though...), while BBCNC is with Chris Eakin & Sophie Long...

CNN being very cautious this morning, understandable given what happened earlier this week. AP and others, NBC included, now reporting the names and nationalities of the two suspects.

I can't be watching the same CNN.

Male Anchor: "AP reporting the suspects appear to be from Chechnya".
CNN analyst: "Oh, okay, well this immmediately means to me that they will be radical Islamic fundamentalists."
Female Anchor: "Right, so we can pretty much rule out these being homegrown terrorists then..."

What a disgrace, jumping to conclusions like this. Despite them having better location pictures than UK networks, I've had to switch off.

Fox News engaging in some extraordinary speculation with their 'Middle East expert'.

NBC's Pete Williams has been absolutely superb all week - now reporting that one of the men ran over his own brother to escape.

Not exactly, they have acknowledged that they are from of Chechen origins and brothers... and "maybe" muslims.
But the reporter is saying that "they don't want to jump to those conclusions..."

uhh... by stating that they are Muslims, she is considering that their religion may be a factor, despite the fact that she mentioned that the "older brother" has "no friends in America!" (or other emotional/psychological factor of some sort...)

From watching their coverage most of the conversation with all of the team was of speculation, they event went as far to talk about the connotations that were attached to what the suspects were wearing.
