I've only regularly seen BBC London and Look North (Hull) East, as they are the two areas I'm most frequently in.
You can all slate London, but however they deliver it, at least they have NEWS! Something 'The Peter Levy Show' is sadly missing. Shame really, even though there is little news I used to enjoy the show for it's entertainment value... But that's not what news is for I guess.

BBC London News is a little too slick, too refined, too 'coffee lounge' for my tastes...

Look North Newcastle I have seen once. After four minutes I was catatonic with boredom. After five minutes I fell asleep. Within six minutes, I was comatose.

I'm assuming you mean TTTV's News (North East News/Tonight). You may not know the names because Tyne Tees tend to name the villages, not the nearest town or the district. I find it much more interesting than most regional news programmes, especially the 6pm programme. On the other hand, I've never seen a regional news programme quite as bad as BBC's Look North Newcastle, other than perhaps the so called "ITV1" London region's offerings.

I'd reccomend you take a visit to the North East though. Avoid Teeside and Sunderland areas, head for Northumberland, Newcastle/Gateshead and Durham City.

I did like the old Newsroom South East when Fiona Bruce presented it, I was only a wee nipper. Oh, how I long for my youth. Laughing

Some would call it modern, I hate regional news programmes who try to make fame out of local presenters, I just want the News, this is where BBC London, BBC Spotlight, Wales Today, and to some extent South East Today, deliver they just give you the News,Sport and weather and that is it.

I'd agree with you there. Carol Malia always looks at best, bored, at worst, p*ssed off. The rest of the presenters aren't much better... and why do they insist on having a pre-title headline sequence which goes on for almost half the programme?

I have to agree with the arguement that this thread is fundermentaly flawed as Regional news is only important to people who will be affected by it, but saying that BBC London is now so boring in many respects.
I used to live in London and found "LDN" to be a brill little programme, but recently returning on buisness turned on to find its now called " BBC London" and the set now looks very, well, Ikea.
Other than that Central News is getting on my wick with all the bloody appeals for money. Thing went to the dogs during that "half-planet" look.
But just remember Midlands Today is THE BEST programme i've seen to date.....

But the presentation DOES have an effect, even on the "locals".

Based on where I live, I should be wildly interested in the output of ITV West News and Points West, yet I avoid the former like the plague and only watch the latter if I already know a story will be on which will interest me.

From choice, I fill that half hour by watching Spotlight.

No , I disagree with that idea .
The places that I havnt lived hold some interest to me , especially the north.

In order of the most boringest .

Meridian South
Points West
BBC West Midlands
BBC LDN - it may have news but it still is dull as f***
South bit of South Today

This is a flawed question surely.

The most boring regional news programme is the one you have the least connection with. The London local programmes are interesting to me as I'm a Londoner, I quite like the South West programmes because i used to live there..... But I find the North East news very dull because I've never been there, I've never heard of most of the places mentioned and even if I have I couldn't give a flying to most of them.

Everyone will have a diffrent answer

What do we think the most boring show is on any of the networks? I would say for the Beeb it is Points West and ITV its north tonight

what do you think Confused: Arrow Arrow

You are SO WRONG saying North tonight!!! Grampian produce an excellent news programme - at least all its contents are relative to the Grampian region (which is more than we can say for Scotland Today)!!! Have you attempted to look at some of the others on itv - North Tonight is FAR from worst!!
Its called scotland today. If it didnt cover scotlands' news wherever it was then the show would be irrelevent

I think the reference is to Scotland Today only covering Grampian and Border stuff.
