Apparently the new channel has clearance on a couple of cable systems and it apparently supposed to be streaming as well. And is based strangely in Tallahassee FL. The state capital of Florida. One of the partial owners is connected with Jacksonville Jaguars and Fulham Football club. Nothing really ground breaking presentation-wise.

Is there such thing as black news? ? ?

A news channel about events in and/or affecting the African American community? Sure. There are plenty of specialized news channels these days -- for conservative audiences, for English-speaking viewers interested in world news from a French perspective, for sports fans, etc., so this is hardly exceptional.

It's easy to dismiss something as an "awful idea" is you're not a part of the intended audience. Let's give it a chance and let the market decide.

I wonder if those criticizing the premise of the channel find it sad that there are three large networks, CNBC, Bloomberg, and Fox Business broadcasting to a single minority community (financiers).

If you had any understanding of the racial caste system in the United States you would not find the existence of BNC "divisive", but rather an opportunity for a minority that is still subject to a great deal of systemic prejudice finding a way to inform and reclaim autonomy for its communities.

And there's already a news channel that's just for white people. It's called Fox News.

Racist and wrong. The last time I looked Harris Faulkner and Jeanine Pirro were employed by the channel.
