Yep, I think it's certain, especially the alarmist ITV News.
It's the lead story on the BBC News
And BBC News 24 cut away from the News Hour.
I do think it might go out of proportion a bit by the media but it can spread between birds quite easily. A few cases might show up over the next couple of days.
Probably, but the swan is dead, it's been found which is a relief, so IMO there's not too much to worry about at the moment.I can see it coming at 10.30 though... ''Dead swan has deadly bird flu, but we ask is the end nigh?''

To be honest, I was just referring to UK News Channels / Programmes generally.........wasn't meaning that they would be breaking into programmes with newsflashes etc.
But, I guess your Bulletins will lead with it.

True, but it really depends how long the swan has been lying there for.
I guess we'll find out tomorrow if it is H5N1.

Not nessecarily. The emergency committee will always meet in times of emergency and if this is H5N1 the government will want to be seen to be taking fast action. Cobra have meet for the fire strikes, the iraq war and the July 7th Bombings.

I know this is not presentation related, but Cobra is meeting tomorrow? Is it really that serious?

I've been talking to fellow posters on the BBC SPL Football boards, and they are saying that's the actual location of where the bird flu has been found is in the Glenrothes/Markinch area
I live in Glenrothes which has several ponds, but the main one is in the Town park where there are a pair of breeding swans and other ducks. Regarding markinch though, I'm afraid I don't that part very well at all - apart from where memorial hall and the station is.

They're much better than the old style strap in my opinion. Not sure I like the way BREAKING NEWS becomes huge though when they show a name caption.
News 24 has an awful looking strap in my opinion, and everytime I look at the channel, the graphics seem to be going slightly wrong. The smaller line under the thick red line had text going behind the tower. Not the first time I've seen that either.

The Scotish Executive has enacted there emergency protocol this evening which includes a caution zone and if your near the area I'd not worry. It only presents a real risk if your in direct contact with Brids.

Just don't go touching any swans dead or alive, if you do so normally?
