Here's another one of Moira and her BBC News Colleagues back in 1981. John Simpson used to be slim then, although not quite as slim as Jan Leeming.

This was at the advent of the "venetian blind" style news set. Yuk. It was dire, wasn't it?

Well judged by modern standards it is a bit yuk, but believe it or not it did look cutting edge at the time!

I notice that on the news summary on the Politics Show, Moira interviewed a BBC correspondent in Baghdad, albeit fairly simple stuff. Not to cause an argument, but if she is allowed to do a small interview like that, why can't she be allowed to do it on a main programme. ( That is if she wants to - maybe she is happy just with the Breakfast bulletins she does. )
