Really? I’ve never seen it stated that he was Wes’s dad

An example of North Tonight “ Summer Edition “. Judging by the ITV corporate logo and the presenters, this is early 90s. I don’t think the summer version lasted much longer than this. Hard to believe from the titles or the set there going to be any news, although they had the good grace to have the news from the “ news desk “.

I liked that Newyddion managed to get Lerpwl on their titles. Okay, right next to a much larger Manceinion but beggars can't be choosers. It was more than the Six could manage, at the time.

Why so many words on the wall of the set? It says Calendar News Show, Yorkshire Television, and also has the YTV logo. Just Calendar News and the chevron would've looked better. Less is more.

That's true enough, we watched Granada in North Wales and it could have been picked up right up the coast - especially before 1997 when the Wrexham-Rhos transmitter only broadcast BBC1 Wales and S4C - but I think Rhyl would have been at the absolute limit of their coverage area, and you would think that there'd been enough happening in actual official Granadaland to get in the titles.

I remember watching Granada when staying in Llandudno in the early 80s...weirdly wondering why World in Action was on Granada at peaktime then seeing it on HTV in the twilight slot somewhere before closedown. Regional variations at their best in the 70s and 80s
