I'd have to vote Huw Edwards. Why? He's the best at the job. Razz

Look at this, 'What time does Huw leave?'

I don't normally like Huw Edwards (mainly as a news presenter), but after watching that clip for the first time ever, he has come up in my estimation.

Quite funny indeed.

Who was that newsreader on Sky that retired a few years ago? Bob something i think. He was brilliant! There was a pic of him on their wesite once of him with a bottletop on his forehead.

Other than him i like Simon McCoy on beeb the geezer who deflected from sky. Angela Rippon ITV, Steve Dixon and Jeremy Thompson for Sky. Also Lorna Dunkely ( she has a nice name).

I'll always have a soft spot for David Chater.

The thread title talks of "news reader", but the words "news presenter" have also, already been used.

I think we need to be very clear which we're voting for, as there's a world of difference.

There are many people who are excellent news readers, but fall apart completely in a presentation role involving a breaking story and any element of ad-libbing.

Equally, there are many who are excellent at news presentation in a live environment, but get easily bored with a straight reading situation and start to mis-read things because of what they find tedious.

Sadly, at present, there are very few who are good at both tasks and can switch smoothly between the two different roles.

There's a difference?

To me they're just someone that sits behind the desk and reads the news on the telly. Followed by those people who read me the sports news and then those that lie about the weather.

Allright clever clogs. Tell me the difference. To me they're all the same.

See why i don't come here often.

Oh and the challenge is to explain it in Lorna language. Good luck!
